  Before I moved away from San Leandro in 2003, this family run Asian restaurant was my absolute favorite for dining in and for takeout. Always clean, staff very attentive and friendly, and if you need a dish slightly adjusted the chefs are usually able to accommodate you. Whenever I am back in the area for a visit I always return here and I am never disappointed. My favorite dishes: The appetizers Szechuan boiled won tons(nice and spicy), pan fried dumplings(plump and juicy), hot and sour soup, Mongolian beef, chicken with cashews, veggie style egg foo young, chicken salad with won tons, and pork chow mein. So if you haven't yet tried the cuisine at Hidden Wok pay them a visit soon.

  I ordered this food for delivery. Service was prompt.
  The food was yuck.
  Salt and pepper fish tastes like fish sticks from Safeway.
  Their chowmein was not chowmein- but was actually the long wide fat noodles.
  I also ordered hongkong style crispy noodles which is always made with thin noodles. Theirs was chowmein noodles.
  Nothing tasted good. We ended up eating leftovers.
  I don't understand how they have a decent rating. Maybe it's a different experience in the restaurant.

  Hidden Wok is not for me. Ordered Sesame chicken, garlic string beans, pan fried noodles, fried chicken wings. It tasted so SALTY!! I love salt!! But it wasn't just heavy on seasoning.... it was just very table salt salty. I don't know how else to describe it.
  
  The green beans were good! Not overly salty and just right on the garlicky flavor.
  
  Chicken wings were overly salty.
  
  Sesame chicken meat was pretty tough to chew through.
  
  Pan fried noodles: the gravy was overly salted. But I also did not like the thicker noodles they used. They didn't soak the gravy up very well

  On my quest to find wonton soup, I tried this place. The meat inside of the wonton tasted artificial. Almost chemically artificial. We also tried the sizzling rice soup and the broth was bland. We ordered via GrubHub and the delivery was fast. However, we will not try this pace again.

  No complaints about this place. I find few places that have Egg Foo Young so this is often my default. Their lunch specials are super affordable, but being in Pelton plaza, lunch time is hard to find parking. They are also on Uber Eats and they deliver if you're drinking at The Cooler! Hidden Wok is a nice little hidden gem!
